McLEAN, Va., July 7, 2009 — Respected meetings industry veteran and consummate professional Annette Suriani, CMP will join Meetings Management Group on July 20th as Director of Meetings. With an extensive 20-year career in meetings and events particularly in the nonprofit community, Suriani was the ideal candidate for this vital operations role reporting to MMG Vice President Hunter Clemens, CMP. MMG is the meetings division of Association Management Group (AMG), Washington, D.C.’s largest association management company specializing in customized management solutions for nonprofit organizations
“Annette’s meeting, tradeshow, and conference management skills are impressive and will be a great addition to our MMG team of professionals,” says MMG Vice President Hunter Clemens. “Her proven track record in exceeding clients’ needs and objectives, as well as her exceptional customer service blends perfectly with MMG’s culture and mission. She is a leader in our industry and I personally look forward to working with her to continue to build MMG’s roster of clients. Her energy and warm personality are infectious and we look forward to her contributions."
Suriani comes to MMG from the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America (PDCA) where she served as Director of Meetings and Expositions for seven years. Prior to that, she held meeting director positions at the National Contract Management Association and the Orthotics and Prosthetics National Office with previous experience as the Manager of Member Services for the American Meat Institute, and Specialist, Independent Operator Services, for the Food Marketing Institute. “Annette’s wealth of knowledge and experience will be a major asset to our clients as well as the MMG staff,” says Clemens.

“MMG is a well respected organization that is known for its ability to provide meeting services that are not only important to the bottom line of an association but important to the membership at large,” says Suriani. “The AMG/MMG work ethic and mentality is an ideal fit with my own values. I submerge myself into the associations I work for, and try to understand the issues that affect their membership, the topics that are important to them and the markets that play an important part of their livelihood. It is important that we walk in their shoes to fully provide them with strategic recommendations that will offer them the biggest ROI.”
